Check every email address inside a Make scenario with the generic HTTP, Make a request module: no custom app and no code. MailTester Ninja verifies each address against the recipient’s mail server, and a router sends valid, invalid and uncertain addresses their own way.
What you need
- A Make account with the HTTP app.
- A key: a free API token to try it (50 checks a day, one request every 30 seconds) or a paid key for full speed. Use a token rather than
key=free: the keyless tier is counted per IP, and Make shares its IP addresses between users.
Set it up in two minutes
- Add an HTTP, Make a request module after the module that provides the email address.
- Set URL to
https://happy.mailtester.ninja/ninjaand Method toGET. - Under Query String, add two items:
emailmapped to your field, andkeywith your token or key. - Set Parse response to Yes, so the next modules can map
codeandmessage.
Route on the verdict
Add a Router after the HTTP module, with one filter per route on code.
| code | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
ok | Valid and deliverable | Keep the contact. |
ko | Invalid, will bounce | Drop it. |
mb | Uncertain (catch-all domain, server could not be probed) | Send it to review. |
-- | No verdict (key problem, or free limit reached with HTTP 429) | Retry later. Never drop the contact on this answer. |
Verify a whole list
Add a Sleep module between calls, or lower the scenario’s cycle size: about 1 second on Pro (11 requests per 10 seconds), 0.45 seconds on Ultimate (23 per 10 seconds), and 30 seconds with a free token.
Keep your key secret
Store the key in a data store or a connection instead of typing it into the module, so an exported blueprint never contains it.
Questions
Is there an official MailTester Ninja app on Make?
Not yet. The HTTP module does the same job today, and this page will announce the app when it is published.
Is anything stored?
No. Each address is checked in real time and we keep no copy of the addresses you verify.
